Life has been a whirlwind of moments lately, from cherishing family memories to navigating unexpected challenges on the road. It’s a constant reminder to appreciate the good times and stay vigilant during the not-so-good ones.
It’s hard to believe it’s already been three months since our family photo session! Time flies, but I’m finally getting around to the exciting task of ordering prints. There’s something truly special about seeing those precious moments captured and knowing they’ll soon adorn our walls, bringing warmth and personality to our home. Here’s a little sneak preview of some of the beautiful images we’ll be hanging. I absolutely cannot wait to see them displayed and relive those happy memories every day.
On a more concerning note, you truly wouldn’t believe our recent string of luck, or rather, lack thereof. My husband has been involved in a car accident not once, but twice in the past three weeks. And if that wasn’t enough, just last week, I personally witnessed a car in front of me get into a wreck. It’s absolutely true! What makes my husband’s incidents even more frustrating is that both times, he was completely blameless. In fact, his car was entirely parked on both occasions when he was run into. Thankfully, he’s doing fine, and neither of these were *major* wrecks (thank goodness!), but it’s incredibly infuriating to witness firsthand how many people are simply not paying attention while driving. This experience has truly highlighted the critical importance of defensive driving and constant vigilance on the roads.
So, consider this my crucial public service announcement: please, do not drive distracted. Put away your phones, focus on the road, and prioritize safety. On a somewhat lighter but still relevant note, it’s become undeniably clear that Houston drivers are a different breed entirely – significantly more aggressive and less attentive than those in Utah. My Utah readers will absolutely understand the stark contrast, hahahah!
Beyond the road mishaps, we did manage to enjoy some fun moments, like attending an Astros game with friends earlier this week. It was a blast, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the stadium and cheering on the home team. However, even on our way there, we encountered another baffling incident: a car recklessly cut off the moving metro, which *barely* missed hitting it! It makes you wonder, what are people thinking?! 😳 These recurring incidents serve as constant reminders to remain aware of our surroundings, whether we’re driving, walking, or just enjoying a day out.
Amidst all the chaos, I have a particularly sweet story to share with you: my four-year-old wakes up early every single morning without fail, just so he can have breakfast with Alex before he leaves for work at 6:50 AM, sometimes even 6:30 AM! After breakfast, he puts on his shoes, walks into the garage, and waves goodbye as my husband backs out of the driveway. Bronson then comes back into the house and hops back into my bed (so, yes, everyone is wide awake by now, ha!). This heartwarming routine happens every. Single. Morning. Isn’t it just the sweetest thing? It’s an incredible testament to their bond, though it does mean he never sleeps past 6:45 AM!
What’s Caught My Eye This Week: Practical Finds and Style Inspo
As I navigate daily life, I’m always on the lookout for innovative products that simplify routines or add a touch of joy. Here are a few things that have recently captured my attention and might just make your life a little easier or more stylish.
This casserole tote is an absolute stroke of genius. For anyone who frequently brings dishes to potlucks, family gatherings, or holiday meals, this is a game-changer. It keeps your food warm, prevents spills, and makes transportation incredibly easy. It’s one of those items you never knew you needed until you have it, and then wonder how you ever managed without it.
I’ve also been on an extensive online hunt for new earrings, bookmarking a handful that have truly caught my eye. While I haven’t made a purchase yet, I’m loving the variety of fun and whimsical designs available.
